There are plenty of excellent books about marketing. They are great expansive works that derive from minds of great academics and practitioners and provide value for students and theorizers. There are degrees you can take, post graduates diplomas, majors and minors, the list goes on and on. Now the principle of this is good and I do not think that their existence is bad. Far from it. But I believe that people can make marketing more complicated and complex than it really is. Is this due to academia’s over-complication of what is a very simple thing? Marketing is actually selling. It really is as simple as that. I believe in marketing, in excellent creative marketing and inspirational story telling. That’s what marketing is. The ability to excite, enthuse and engage the buyer into wanting to do business with you. WOW. I really don’t have to write 500,000 words and a multiplicity of complicated words and analysis! But I still want to go to events to network and learn. Does anyone agree/disagree..comments are welcomed.
