3D walkthoughs - just got better..
Developing 3D renders used to be an awful process - mainly involving time and expending patience.. Now I can produce, from initial line designs, fully lit renders as stills, and then as movies, in extremely short periods of time - and this has got even better... Now I can produce these same renders (within the time it takes to make the stills) to create stand-alone 3d files that, with a free software player (for Mac or PC), clients can walk around on their own computer - send on to their clients - bringing events, exhibitions & experiential alive before commissioning.

- agreeing colours/design features
- looking at lighting effects
- considering sight lines (you can visit any part of the venue/space modelled)
- seeing what the presenter sees
- thinking about how to make it even better - without wasting money, time and effort..
So far I have applied it to:
- Exhibition designs - showing layouts, branding placement and sightlines
- Event design - showing seating and stage lighting effects
- Experiential design - helping 'creatives' realise their concepts in development
