BS8901 - What are you doing?

Hi Lee - I was involved in writing BS 8901 (but don't blame me). I am currently running a programme taking companies through BS 8901 to achieve certification - I have 10 companies on the programme so far. There are many challenges on the road to certification - one of the main ones is the cultural change needed to work in accordance with BS 8901! I looked at early 8901 adoption when running a small agency a couple of years back - but - there has to be a but - I never was able to pull out from the process the real difference - how much greener - an event would really become.. It starts with many behaviours and many people - not enforced by the standard.

Hi, we are activly engaged in working towards 8901 compliance and are expecting to be there by early next year.. we have found meaningful engagement outside of the company to be the most difficult obsticle to overcome... people still just dont get it... its not about green... its about sustainable.. a balance of three (or five depending on the model) elements.. its a tough road but good luck.. it would be interesting to know peoples progress with this.
