I am organising an exhibition stand at a trade show about wind power. Does anyone out there know of someone who could build me a mini wind turbine that people can blow (or wind, push, pump) to turn around that has a digital read out showing how fast they turned it (or how much power they generated) which could connect to some kind of leaderboard? The exhibition is in September, so the time line is short!
Hi Emily,
I used to be the Event Manager on Energy Solutions Expo and we worked with a few companies who specialised in micro-wind turbines but I think these might still be too big for your purposes (they're the kind that sell at B&Q that you can mount on your home).
At last year's show, EDF Energy had a fantastic bike that you could ride that connected to a fun, computer game-looking module that showed how much energy you produced whilst riding it. It might be worth speaking with them or their stand contractor to find out who designed and built this.
Another company, Solar Technology International, design and sell small solar models and chargers and might be able to create your mini turbine for you.
If you would like contacts for these companies, drop me an email rather than a comment via the function on Event Crowd and I will reply with details for you.
Madeleine.
Hi Emily, I know its a late reply but we do holographic images and for future events we would be able to demo of a turbine etc as a holorgram image to create a wow factor. Take a look at our webiste www.musion.co.uk and if you need anymore information please let me know.
