Events industry tweetup

Mike Fletcher, freelance writer, journalist, editor and Peter Kerwood, Head of Marketing at Merlin Events will be hosting the first event industry networking event on 14 April for people that use the micro-blogging site Twitter.

The inaugural ‘tweetup’, as these events are known, will be held at the brand new SEA LIFE London Aquarium following its multi-million pound transformation.

Tweetup events are popular in the US as a way of bringing like-minded people together in a face-to-face environment who are already sharing information and conversing online. With a growing number of event industry ‘tweeple’ communicating across the ‘twitterverse’, Fletcher and Kerwood decided it was time to stage the first tweetup solely for event industry tweeters.

Guests will be able to meet and network with fellow tweeters at the spectacular new SEA LIFE London Aquarium where they will be able to view graceful Green turtles from the glass Ocean Tunnel and enjoy the nail-biting Shark Walk across a floating platform above the shark display at the end of the evening.
